Assertive to Exclamatory Transformation ইংরেজি গ্রামারের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ টপিক। বিশেষ করে SSC ও HSC-র শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য এই Transformation (Assertive To Imperative) টপিকটি খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।সাধারণত Assertive Sentence-কে Exclamatory Sentence-এ রুপান্তার করা যায় না। তবে যে সব Assertive Sentence-এ Adjective/Wish/Had থাকে, তাদেরকে Exclamatory Sentence-এ রুপান্তার করা যায়। এই পোষ্টে কিভাবে একটি Assertive Sentence-কে Exclamatory Sentence-এ রুপান্তর করবেন সেই নিয়ম গুলো উদাহরণ ও ব্যাখ্যাসহ আলোচনা করা হয়েছে। বোঝার সুবিধার্থে Assertive to Exclamatory Examples এবং অনুশীলনের জন্য Assertive to Exclamatory Exercises দেওয়া হয়েছে।

• I wish-এর পরিবর্তে If বসে।
• বাক্যের বাকি অংশ বসে।
• বাক্যের শেষে বিস্ময়সূচক চিহ্ন (Note of exclamation) ‘!’ বসে।

Assertive Sentence: I wish I were a bird.

Exclamatory Sentence: If I were a bird!

Assertive Sentence: I wish I could travel the whole world.

Exclamatory Sentence: If I could travel the whole world!

ব্যাখ্যাঃ উভয় বাক্যেকে Exclamatory Sentence করার সময় I wish-এর পরিবর্তে If বসেছে তার পরে বাকি অংশ + Note of exclamation বসেছে।

• শুরু থেকে wish পর্যন্ত বাদ যায়।
• বাক্যের শুরুতে Had বসে।
• বাক্যের Subject এবং বাকি অংশ বসে।
• বাক্যের শেষে বিস্ময়সূচক চিহ্ন (Note of exclamation) ‘!’ বসে।

Assertive Sentence: I wish I hd the wings of a bird.

Exclamatory Sentence: Had I the wings of a bird!

Assertive Sentence: I wish I had been a poet.

Exclamatory Sentence: Had I been a poet!

ব্যাখ্যাঃ উভয় বাক্যেকে Exclamatory sentence করার সময় বাক্যের শুরুতে Had বসেছে তার পরে বাক্যের Subject এবং বাকি অংশ + Note of exclamation বসেছে।

• ‘very/great’ এর পরিবর্তে How বসে।
• Adjective/Adverb বা পরের Noun বসে।
• বাক্যের Subject বসে।
• সাহায্যকারী Verb বসে।
• বাক্যের শেষে বিস্ময়সূচক চিহ্ন (Note of exclamation) ‘!’ বসে।

Assertive Sentence: The bird is very beautiful.

Exclamatory Sentence: How beautiful the bird is!

Assertive Sentence: The scenery is very beautiful.

Exclamatory Sentence: How beautiful the scenery is!

Assertive Sentence: This is very beautiful lake.

Exclamatory Sentence: How beautiful lake this is!

ব্যাখ্যাঃ উপরের বাক্যে গুলোকে Exclamatory Sentence করার সময় বাক্যের শুরুতে How বসেছে তার পরে Adjective/Adverb বা পরের Noun + বাক্যের Subject এবং বাকি অংশ + Note of exclamation বসেছে।

• বাক্যের শুরুতে What a/an বসে।
• a/an বসে।
• বাক্যের Subject বসে।
• সাহায্যকারী Verb বসে।
• বাক্যের শেষে বিস্ময়সূচক চিহ্ন (Note of exclamation) ‘!’ বসে।

Assertive Sentence: He is a great fool.

Exclamatory Sentence: What a fool he is!

Assertive Sentence: It is a very nice toy.

Exclamatory Sentence: What a nice toy it is!

Assertive Sentence: This is a great idea.

Exclamatory Sentence: What an idea this is!

ব্যাখ্যাঃ উপরের বাক্যে গুলোকে Exclamatory Sentence করার সময় বাক্যের শুরুতে What a/an বসেছে তার পরে a/an + বাক্যের Subject + সাহায্যকারী Verb + Note of exclamation বসেছে।

অনকে সময় Assertive Sentence-এর অর্থ বুঝে Interjection ব্যবহার করে Exclamatory করতে হয়।

⮞ বাক্যে It is a matter of joy যুক্ত Assertive Sentence দ্বারা আনন্দ প্রকাশ করলেঃ

• বাক্যের শুরুতে Hurrah! বসে।
• It is a matter of joy + that বাদ যায়।
• বাক্যের বাকি অংশ বসে।

Note: বিস্ময়সূচক চিহ্ন (Note of exclamation) ‘!’ Interjection-এর পরে বসে।

Assertive Sentence: It is a matter of joy that we have won the match.

Exclamatory Sentence: Hurrah! We have won the match.

ব্যাখ্যাঃ Assertive Sentence-টি দ্বারা আনন্দ প্রকাশ করেছে তাই Hurrah! বসেছে এবং বাক্যের বাকি অংশ বসেছে।

⮞ বাক্যে It is a matter of sorrow যুক্ত Assertive Sentence দ্বারা দুঃখ প্রকাশ করলেঃ

• বাক্যের শুরুতে Alas! বসে।
• It is a matter of sorrow + that বাদ যায়।
• বাক্যের বাকি অংশ বসে।

Note: বিস্ময়সূচক চিহ্ন (Note of exclamation) ‘!’ Interjection-এর পরে বসে।

Assertive Sentence: It is a matter of sorrow that the man died in a road accident.

Exclamatory Sentence: Alas! The man died in a road accident.

ব্যাখ্যাঃ Assertive Sentence-টি দ্বারা দুঃখ প্রকাশ করেছে তাই Alas! বসেছে এবং বাক্যের বাকি অংশ বসেছে।

Note: একই ভাবে বিস্ময় বোঝালে Wow! এবং লজ্জা বোঝালে Fie Fie! ইত্যাদি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
