Assertive To Imperative Transformation ইংরেজি গ্রামারের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ টপিক। ইংরেজি
গ্রামার শেখা বা ইংরেজিতে নির্ভুল ভাবে কথা বলার ক্ষেত্রে Transformation এর
ভুমিকা অনেক। বিশেষ করে SSC ও HSC-র শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য এই Transformation
(Assertive To Imperative) টপিকটি খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। আমরা এই পোষ্টে কিভাবে
একটি Assertive Sentence-কে Imperative Sentence-এ রুপান্তর করবেন সেই নিয়ম সম্পর্কে উদাহরণ ও ব্যাখ্যাসহ
আলোচনা করা হয়েছে। বোঝার সুবিধার্থে Assertive to Imperative Examples এবং
অনুশীলনের জন্য Assertive to Imperative Exercises দেওয়া হয়েছে।
Assertive থেকে Imperative (command/request/order/ advice) -এ রূপান্তর করার
নিয়ম--
1. Assertive Sentence-এর Subject যদি Second Person (you) হয়ঃ
⮞ Assertive Sentence টি ‘হাঁ-বোধক’ হলেঃ
- মূল Verb-এর পূর্বের অংশ বাদ যায়।
- মূল Verb-টি বাক্যের শুরুতে বসে।
- বাক্যের বাকী অংশ বসে।
উদাহরণঃ (Affirative Sentence)
Assertive Sentence: You should read attentively.
Imperative Sentence: Read attentively.
ব্যাখ্যাঃ বাক্যটি Affirative তাই Imperative করার সময় Main
Verb ‘Read’ দ্বারা বাক্য শুরু হয়েছে। এবং মূল Verb-এর পূর্বের অংশ (You
should) বাদ দেয়া হয়েছে।

⮞ Assertive Sentence টি ‘না-বোধক’ হলেঃ
- মূল Verb-এর পূর্বের অংশ বাদ যায়।
- Do not + verb দিয়ে বাক্যটি শুরু হয়।
- বাক্যের বাকী অংশ বসে।
উদাহরণঃ (Negative Sentence)
Assertive Sentence: You should not run in the sun.
Imperative Sentence: Do not run in the sun.
ব্যাখ্যাঃ বাক্যটি Negative তাই Imperative করার সময় Do not + verb
দ্বারা বাক্যটি শুরু হয়েছে। এবং মূল Verb-এর পূর্বের অংশ (You should not) বাদ
দেয়া হয়েছে।
2. প্রদত্ত Assertive Sentence-এ ‘request’ কথাটি থাকলেঃ
- Please/Kindly + verb দ্বারা বাক্যটি শুরু হয়।
- Main Verb থেকে বাকী অংশ বসে।
উদাহরণঃ
Assertive Sentence: I request you to do it.
Imperative Sentence: Please do it.
Assertive Sentence: You are requested to help him.
Imperative Sentence: Please help him.
ব্যাখ্যাঃ ওপরের বাক্য দুটিতে ‘request’ কথাটি উল্লেখ রয়েছে তাই
Imperative Sentence-এ রুপান্তর করার সময় বাক্য দুটি ‘Please’ দিয়ে শুরু হয়েছে।
3. Assertive Sentence-এর Subject, 1st Person বা 3rd Person হলেঃ
- বাক্যটি Let দ্বারা শু হয়।
- Objective Pronoun (me/us/him/her/them) বসে।
- Main Verb বসে।
- প্রদত্ত Verb-এর পরের অংশ বসে।
গঠনঃ Let + Objective Pronoun (me/us/him/her/them) + Verb + প্রদত্ত
Verb-এর পরের অংশ।
উদাহরণঃ
Assertive Sentence: I must go now.
Imperative Sentence: Let me go now.
ব্যাখ্যাঃ প্রদত্ত বাক্যটির subject, 1 person হওয়ায় Let এর পরে ‘me’
বসেছে।
Assertive Sentence: He should do the sum.
Imperative Sentence: Let him do the sum.
ব্যাখ্যাঃ প্রদত্ত বাক্যটির Subject, 3rd Person তাই Let-এর পরে
‘him’ বসেছে।
4. First Person বা Third Person যুক্ত Assertive Sentence-এ not থাকলেঃ
Imperative করার নিয়মঃ Let + প্রদত্ত Subject-এর Objective Form + not
+ প্রদত্ত Verb থেকে বাকি অংশ।
Note: Let-এর পরে Verb-এর Object যদি Noun হয় তবে ‘not’ তার পূর্বে
বসে এবং Pronoun হলে তার পরে বসে।
উদাহরণঃ
Assertive Sentence: We do not hate the poor.
Imperative Sentence: Let us not hate the poor.
ব্যাখ্যাঃ We-এর Objective form হলো ‘us’; কিন্তু Noun-এর Subjective
ও Objective form একই। Let-এর পরে Verb-এর Object টি Pronoun তাই ‘not’ তার
পরে বসেছে।
উদাহরণঃ
Assertive Sentence: Payel does not run in the sun.
Imperative Sentence: Let not Payel run in the sun.
ব্যাখ্যাঃ আবার Let-এর পরে Verb-এর Object টি Noun তাই ‘not’ তার
পূর্বে বসেছে।
5. Never যুক্ত Assertive Sentence-এর ক্ষেত্রেঃ
Imperative করার নিয়মঃ Never + প্রদত্ত মূল Verb-এর Base Form + Verb- এর পরের
অংশ।
উদাহরণঃ

plays football. 4. We should go out. 5. She wants to go out. 6. We do not
look down upon the poor. 7. He did not tell a lie. 8. You do not go out. 9.
You should not kill your time. 10. You read the book. 11. You should not go
out in cold weather. 12. You should think before you leap.
